Thank you for this programme, Alexander. According to the United Nations, there are 48 countries in Asia, and there are 50 nations in Europe. Technically, from a geographical perspective, neither Asia nor Europe are defined as continents because they are not separate land masses surrounded by oceans. They belong to the same land mass generally called Eurasia with the Atlantic Ocean to the west and the Pacific Ocean to the east.
