Turkey is the next domino to fall. And then it’s chreckmate for NATO.
Or Ukraine. The sequence doesn’t matter. Must feel awkward trying to play five-dimensional chess against the russians with a geriatric trying to get his wheelchair out of the quicksand while his dollar dies moving the pieces.
I don’t expect Turkey to fall. Turkey will march to its own drummer, and needs Russia just as Russia needs Turkey. But Putin will never be able to trust Erdogan, and I am sure he knows that.
Putin does not trust. He’s a pro. But Erdogan will do anything to stay in power. If the russians get the kurds on their side – which is happening now – they’ve got erdo by the balls. The kurds are the only thing he’s afraid of.

One also cannot escape the thought such “total practicality” is a two-edged sword to some extent, as some cynics might even consider it to be bordering on a lack of principles. Though, one should not forget that this is about governing entire countries, not about inter-personal relations. “Politics is… Read more »
This is complete BS. Western analysts don’t understand the slavic mindset. They are too cynical and enlightened. Putin and russia have stayed their course since the fall of the berlin wall. And now it’s cash-in time.
“… Putin and [R]ussia have stayed their course since the fall of the [B]erlin wall. …”
That is “why” they have sold out their friend Collonel Muammar Gaddafi to the West on 17 March 2011 through their “abstention” vote for the UN Security Council Resolution #1973. Even Hillary Clinton saluted the deed by her infamous diabolic cackle…
