Yerevan does look nice, and also clean. I always feel that a city that spends its money on street cleaners and park keepers, who keep everything looking neat and tidy, clean and colourful, is a city council that respects its residents. We used to be like that in Britain. Parks were full of neat and colourful flower beds, seafronts were clean and litter free, rural railway stations were full of hanging baskets and tubs of flowers.
