Swedish PM Stefan Löfven loses no-confidence vote
Stefan Löfven, Sweden’s Social Democrat prime minister since 2014, has lost a no-confidence vote, making him the first Swedish leader ever to lose such a motion. The vote was initiated on Tuesday by the small Left party, an ally of the minority government that is not in the two-party ruling coalition, over a plan to ease rent controls for new-build apartments.

Very interesting summary of what is going on in not only Sweden but all the other countries in Europe that are trying to prevent the same kind of party from arising. Thank you for this.
Good riddance, take it from a Swedish guy: “Åkesson” is pronounced somewhat like “Ohh-kesson”, never like “Ah-kesson”. On more substantial matters, yours truly is willing to bet that there won’t be any extra elections. Yes, extra elections, because the regular elections next year would still have to be held as per the Swedish constitution. Taking part in two elections back-to-back is something the Swedish in their countryside summer huts couldn’t be bothered with. Löfvén may even become the next prime minister just like he became the last one. You see, the most constant feature of the Swedish political landscape is… Read more »
I do agree with almost everything you said. What makes Löfvén dangerous is something few people point out. His background. He has spent his life within the social democratic controlled unions and the one I actually admire is his ruthlessness and amazing ability to negotiate. People voted for the right-wing coalition and somehow we got the hated greens and social democrats again, that requires some amazing spinndoctery. And (good translation for fackpamp?) as incompetent a leader he is they have played that so well for the past 7 years. When something is done people immediately assume it’s because they are… Read more »
Tjena (Swedish for “Hi”), it seems we are both right in that Löfvén is probably going to be the next PM – underestimated _again_. (The Duran channel will hopefully take note of that. 🙂 ) Interestingly, Lööf seems to have totally caved on rent controls. That I didn’t expect. You have to wonder how that will go down with her followers. I should hope that her popularity wanes but with these centrist you never know. They also seem to be the ones who are most supportive of lockdown. Anyways, the communist left has won the day. What will their next… Read more »

Confidence vore Could have been stopped but as always he wanted trick and lie. So they learned him a lesson.

History rhymes once more……
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed; and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned
The best lack all conviction; while the worst are full of passionate intensity.

Kanskje svenskarna kan få sin frihet tilbaka nu…. hoppas det….:)
Oh no!!!! Lovely Sweden in trouble!!!! Yes I know they have a crap football team that caves in when the chips are down. But they do have a really progressive outlook for newcomers. Anyway to end my comment. When they were Vikings it’s a good job they only met with little resistance. Or they would have ended up like their modern day footballers.
