The S-400 Triumf air defense missile system is the best in the world, just as Russia has been leading the world in rocketry since she put the first man, Yuri Gagarin in space.
Indeed, the fact that American astronauts now go to space on Russian made rockets illustrates the power of Russian rocketry. We already covered how Russia is deploying these start of the art missiles in Crimea. Now, according to RT, China will be receiving their shipment as part of their 2014 contract.
China is one of the most powerful countries in the world, and with their economy already overtaking that of the US by PPP, China effectively has access to whatever it wants with regards to weapon systems. Money certainly is not an issue for the Chinese, and their purchase will certainly add to the fame of the S-400 system. Here is RT’s report on the delivery of the missile system to China:
Moscow has begun the delivery of the S-400 Triumf air defense missile systems to China under the 2014 contract, TASS said, citing a source in the military cooperation system. “The implementation of the contract has begun, the first shipment has been sent to China,” the source said on Thursday. The shipment reportedly includes a control station, a radar station, energy and support equipment, spare parts, various tools and other elements of the S-400 system. The contract with China stipulated neither technology transfer nor licensed production, according to the source. Russia’s Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation has not commented on the report.
The S-400 Missle system is an evolution of the S-300 and has been in service with the Russian military since 2007. The Missile system is deployed in key regions throughout Russia such as Crimea, and also Moscow, and Kaliningrad, and is also in service with the Russian forces in Syria.
