Lenin predicted the decay of imperialist economies. Marx lived in different era. China and Russia follow Lenin by repeating NEP in bigger and longer term scale. The goal is not capitalism look appealing, the opposite, the goal is keeping working class nostalgic for socialism, so they can revert this new NEP when the time comes.

I would like to ask you, please, regarding the issue of the “ad hoc” nature of Russian and Chinese economic moves – is “ad hoc” possibly the most practical and serviceable way of moving through uncharted waters?
