Desperation in Kiev. Russia is member of the Security Council, Ukraine is not. Kiev wants or US forces in Ukraine or UN peace force in Ukraine. Kiev is standing with the back to the wall. The West has never spoken about the atrocities perpetrated by Kiev in Donbass. No trial in TheHaque for Porky nor Mr. Z.
Excellent briefing – thanks! It seems to me that, while some in the West might like to portray a Putin-Medvedev duopoly in Russia as “authoritarian dictatorship”, it makes more sense to see it as focusing responsibility. Ever since 2000, almost everything important that has happened in Russia has been attributable to Mr Putin – much to his credit. The Russian people understand how much they owe him, with Mr Medvedev as his understudy (so far). If Mr Medvedev takes over, we can hope for some continuity at the highest level.
