In my opinion, the main issue with any cryptocurrency is the ability of nation states to shut down or dissrupt the communication network of the non-government approved ‘currencies’. Add to that a global disaster of many types that knocks out the electrical grids, possibly for months. NO government will accept a currency that is being used to bypass the state. Even gold has been targetted for seizure in the past, including the USA in the 20th century. What you say is true,but never the less,crypto currency is here to stay,of course no one should be foolish enough to have all their life savings in it,eggs in basket and all that,abit of gold is good ,but so is a bit of bit coin..We are in new uncharted waters,with a new hegemon replacing the old one,there will be precarious waters,especially if the empire takes unbridged at no longer being top dog,and threatens China,who has the other red button,namely they could flood the currency markets with dollars,thus making the ole green back a worthless relic,i don’t think people would like… Read more »

There are so many bad variables now, that it makes sense for me to self-identify as a bear. At least I would be able to hibernate whilst all the frenzied madness is taking its course.

I will bury my gold first in the hope of reclaiming it in the future 🙂
