So much talk of Afghanistan, as if this was big news. Was there ever any doubt that it would all end like this? Seriously, why is everyone making such a fuss? This is not news, it’s as f….ing obvious as night following day.
Not sure the average Afghan any worse off apart from those who helped US. Once this short period of turmoil settles down the Afghans will be better off, providing everyone else keeps thier grubby little paws off
And I doubt whether the Chinese will allow the Taliban free rein to do exactly as they like, (like they do the Uighur)? China wants their mineral resources and other assets in exchange for helping rebuild Afghanistan. Will the Taliban accept communism and be able to dissent when the Chinese turn the screw?

Just how do you know what the Chinese do to the Uyghur? TV tells you all? Why do you think the US was in Afghanistan? for a holiday? To the average American communism means no freedom; well they dont have freedom in the US either. I think the real reason people are making a fuss is because this is a fiasco on a monumental scale and the public have had no preparation for it. The media has always given the impression that the West knew what it was doing… The scale of this disaster cannot be hidden.

I suspect the Founding Fathers have been spinning in their graves for years now. This decline is not sudden. The only difference is that now it’s happening at ramming speed. Few people noticed it when it started slowly, then faster, and faster….

The blame goes to those who voted for Biden, but especially those who flipped the Trump votes to Biden during the middle of the night, and those who sent out more mail-in ballots to more folks than we have registered voters, and those who knew about it, but did nothing to stop it or correct it, and that includes our Supreme Court, no less.
What would you call them? If the Russians invaded the UK and UK citizens joined the Russian military as translators and informers? Perhaps, I would call them traitors. Then the UK citizens that fight the occupation are labelled ‘insurgents and terrorists’ by the puppet government established by the invaders. In the end, this is the Afghan’s country and up to them to organise themselves as they wish; not according to some foreign country’s ideology.
