7 safest cities in Russia for 2017

Russians rated seven cities where they feel most secure.

The rating was compiled on the basis of a poll of 258,441 residents of 100 largest Russian cities. The respondents were asked to answer the question whether they agree with the statement “I live in a safe area and I am not afraid to go home at night.”

The capital of Chechnya was called the safest city in Russia. Such a high rating was given by residents of Grozny, who participated in a survey of the portal.

1. Grozny (8.7/10)

2. Sochi (7.5/10)

3. Nizhnevartovsk (7.5/10)

4. Surgut (7.4/10)

5. Armavir (7.3/10)

6. Saransk (7.3/10)

7. Murmansk (7.3/10)

Most of all afraid for their safety are inhabitants of the city of Shakhty of the Rostov area and Volgograd, who rated only 5.6/10 points.

Moscow (6.9/10) and St. Petersburg (6.7/10) took 31st and 42nd places in the “security table.”
