I really feel sympathy for Zelensky. In a foreign continent, outnumbered, grappling with a foreign language. A diplomat would have had the sense to stop talking whenever the Americans interrupted him, and wait for them to be quiet. That would have preserved some dignity.
It’s easy to overlook that almost everything Trump and Vance said was untrue.
Sympathy for the devil? Zelenski is pure evil.

To my British mind, the whole idea that decorum is necessary in the White House seems hilarious. They’re Americans, for Pete’s sake! It’s not a palace, and the President is not royalty. Right from the foundation of the USA they were very outspoken about how they would have no royalty, no nobility, no gentry, no titles at all – everyone was to be equal.
Yet now they play that “Hail to the Chief” music and want to be treated like… royalty. Which they’re not.
