Democratic leaders are saying that Trump is an incompetent imperialist and they can do a much better job. They are even more hysterically Russophobic and pro-war than the Republicans. They are bringing back Russiagate, calling every effort of Trump to stop supporting the war in Ukraine by calling him a stooge of Putin, just as they did in 2016. But the Democratic party is moving to the left with leaders like Mamdani. The neoliberal leadership fears an attempt by the rank and file to make the Democratic party into the genuinely progressive party of FDR much more than they fear Republicans.
