MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Russian Foreign Ministry does not rule out that on the eve of the presidential elections in Russia, Washington will allocate some funds to support protest rallies in Russia, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Monday.

“We do not rule out that Washington will try to send part of the funds on the eve of the elections to support protest rallies [in Russia],”

Ryabkov said.

He said attempts to influence the Russian elections would intensify closer to their date and pledged to continue resisting US attempts of election interference.
