10 November 2024, by Eric Zuesse. (All of my recent articles can be seen here.)
Even before the U.S. President Re-Elect Donald Trump starts his second term as the President, he spoke by phone on November 10th with Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, and the Washington Post headlined about the call, “Trump talked to Putin, told Russian leader not to escalate in Ukraine”, and reported that, “he advised the Russian president not to escalate the war in Ukraine and reminded him of Washington’s sizable military presence in Europe.”
If that newspaper has correctly reported there the contents of that call, then an appropriate response by Putin to that implicit threat for him not to win the war in Ukraine before Trump enters the White House, would be along the lines of: “The President of Russia does not take orders, nor accept threats, from the President nor anyone else of any other nation, and my duty as the President of Russia is to the national security of the Russian people, which the U.S. Government has been and is threatening by trying to get Ukraine — the only nation whose border is a mere 300 miles or five minutes of missile-flying time, away from Russia’s central command in The Kremlin — into NATO so that they can then place a nuclear missile far closer to the Kremlin than would be safe for, or acceptable by, the Russian people. Russia will protect its national security, not take orders from any foreign country; and, therefore, I must, as the President of Russia, respectfully, but with regret, decline your advices concerning the national security of my country. Nor will I ever try to advise you regarding the national security of yours.”

None of the U.S.-and-allied ‘news’-media will likely publish it (nor link to it, since doing that might also hurt them with Google or etc.). I am not asking for money, but I am asking my readers to spread my articles far and wide, because I specialize in documenting what the Deep State is constantly hiding. This is, in fact, today’s samizdat.

Investigative historian Eric Zuesse’s latest book, AMERICA’S EMPIRE OF EVIL: Hitler’s Posthumous Victory, and Why the Social Sciences Need to Change, is about how America took over the world after World War II in order to enslave it to U.S.-and-allied billionaires. Their cartels extract the world’s wealth by control of not only their ‘news’ media but the social ‘sciences’ — duping the public.

I would believe Ted Bundy before I would believe the Washington Post.
I call BS.
Escalation to what exactly? Russia is winning this war on its terms. I personally think Trump is a swamp creature but I do not believe the veracity of Washington Post report.
Actually the Baltics, and now Sweden and Finland, are nearly as close to Moscow as Ukraine – and of course far nearer to St Petersburg. However the theory of “decapitation” is absurd and nonsensical. Killing Mr Putin and his team, for example, would merely render the Russian leadership much tougher and less willing to compromise. And the military apparatus is surely very well concealed, protected, distributed, and backed up. Not to mention Perimeter…
If the Commander-in-Chief of Russia, the only person authorized to unleash Russia’s nuclear forces, gets blitz-attacked in a mere 5 minutes, he’ll be dead before he can respond, and the “dead hand” system can’t be and so never has been tested. Your assumption that it “would merely render the Russian leadership much tougher and less willing to compromise” presumes that “compromise” would be an issue. That’s stupid. Was “compromise” an issue when Hitler committed suicide? The Nazis simply had to surrender. That is what defeat consists of. That is what Putin must prevent at all costs. He does a terrific… Read more »
