One is required to show a Driver’s license or other ID as a matter of course, living in today’s society: at the bank, at the pharmacy, at some doctor’s offices, when you are stopped by a cop, at borders, etc. Why, Facebook actually closed my FB account, allegedly because I refused to send them a photocopy of my Driver’s License or passport.
