The unasked question that must be in many minds about American policy-makers is: Have they decided that a nuclear war with Russia must be risked and that it may be necessary to sacrifice a few US cities if it comes to that? It’s kinda funny watching Mr. Mercouris desperately trying to find justifications for Russia’s completely unjustifiable abandonment of Snake Island. The exact same thing happened when the Russians inexplicably withdrew from Kiev after having surrounded it militarily. When before have we ever seen an army unilaterally & voluntarily give back hard-won territory to their enemy, especially while the conflict is still raging? This entire “war” is starting to exhibit the same authenticity of a World Wrestling Federation ‘fight’.
Something about the Ukrainian conflict stinks to high heaven.

There are many examples in military history of armies unilaterally and voluntarily giving back hard won territory. The Duke of Wellington went back and forth like a yo yo for years before finally driving the French out of Spain. But it is true it is always a bit embarrassing politically.
