Mr Putin is determined to get Russia on the right side of history. He was obviously annoyed, a couple of years ago, that the West concealed and ignored Russia’s offer to send one million troops to defend France…which Poland opposed. To this day they say the offer never happened or wasn’t serious. He is also annoyed that the assurances given by NATO not to expand are now denied. So, he is writing in stone his current position.
