Where did this “figure of 5 000 dead Wagners that Prigohzin gave” come from?
I followed the Prigohzin transcript of his intervierw with Russia 24 and he stated clearly that…..
20% of his 50 000 recruited convicts had been killed..ie 10 000
and that 10 000 of his Wagner regulars had been killed
ie 20 000 total…
My theory is Prigozhin is all about maskirovka. Russia considers itself at war with NATO in the Ukrainian theatre and wants NATO to think it is weaker than it is and barrel into the fray losing materials and becoming weaker economically. This might cause some jitters with parts of the Russian population and Putin is balancing that out without making the NATO dupes the wiser. Maskirovka is a Russian military and political deception game against the enemy, if Prigozhin was a real material threat to Russian national security he would have been disappeared by now.
