Perhaps these claims by Ukraine of having shot down three SU-34 aircraft were a coping mechanism for the damage that Russia inflicted yesterday on the Ukrainians. From Russian MOD report 24 Dec: “Air defence systems have shot down four Ukrainian aircraft: three Su-27 and one Su-24 of the Ukrainian Air Force near Shirokoye, Odarovka (Zaporozhye region), and Grigorovka (Dnepropetrovsk region).
