It appears that now Zelenski is shaking down the west by threatening the power plant in order to get more aid…. I guess that is what happens when you get in bed with blackmailers and criminals….

The amount of repetition, qualifiers and lists is taking away from the overall purpose of the narrative. Sure you need some of that but not to make the whole process tedious. Getting side tracked on detail is a huge problem in my opinion. Nice to see you finally identifying Russian Central Banks role in impeding the Rus economy not so long ago. Alexander you went over the Zaporozhzhye Nuclear Power Plant to such an extent sometimes it seemed you were bending to wards western censorship of favouring UKR even though you in some respects you made it clear Russia is… Read more »
Relatively unbiased.
Interesting. I think it is valid to offer some polite and kind criticism in this matter, because Alexander’s work is very much appreciated by myself and many others no doubt, and I am sure he can take it well, if useful at all. We can hardly expect complete preparedness and consistency in performance, and yet Alexander demonstrates a lot of hard work in his research and in preparedness or overview for his spoken podcasts. IN some ways, in this forum, ad libbing is to be expected, and speaking off the cuff. Sometimes, and especially recently I’ve noticed, Alexander is on… Read more »
PS. It is true that many of us are stupid at times, or have been left stupid by the way we’re treated and brought up in schools, BBC Ceebeebeies, and with mainstream media or the stupidly cool.
It doesn’t help any one to speak to them as if they are stupid, and children don’t improve that way. If someone is stubbornly stupid, self-handicapped, then so be it.
Great program I agree with most of what Alexander Mercouris said. First of all, Russian tanks are not worse than Western ones. They just lack in area of sensors and overall electronics and in case of tanks reverse speed so transitions which are a lot better in the West in every other regard they are even if not better. Also if we look at them with regards to cost efficiency they are really cheap compared to how good they are and a lot better in this regard than Western ones. All that damage to reputation of quality of weapons that… Read more »
“Now while Ukraine is on offensive I suspect casualties rate around 4-8 Ukrainians to 1 Russian.” I would be interested to know how would you know better than the Russian MOD, which listens in to Ukrainian reports of casualties, as well as counting it’s own? You don’t mention any sources. Also, noting is astonishing when it comes to casualties in this war. There is no applicable yardstick that should govern expectations or belief even. – averages from any number of conflicts of any kind here, or there, at some time. 1:17 is perfectly possible, which has been reported recently by… Read more »
During last Ukrainian offensive they were saying causing rate were around 10 ukrainians to 1 Russian which probably was exaggerated but I suspect caulting rate around were around 6-8 Ukrainians to 1 Russian and it was caused by the fact Russia ordered retreat and leaving equipment while shelling, bombing and rocket spamming area which causes so high casualties rates. John Mearsheimer caulites rate of 2 Ukrainians to 1 Russia were overall before offensive when Russia was attacking, MOD caulites rates were albo overall casualties rate not just from offensive. Average casualties rate during offensive is 3 attacker to 1 defender and… Read more »
Since when did you get a second dog?
A sensible Ukrainian military strategy: I see Ukraine military have the right idea in order to preserve it’s tanks, don’t use them. They might well do the same with the Bradley’s, and hopefully their personnel… Hey why not capitulate, surrender.
