Pakistan plans to ink dual citizenship deal with Turkey

02/02/20 – WEll,well,well. Is this a way to get around US Congressional restrictions on “aid” to Pakistan by circumventing end use restrictions for helicopter engines and things like that?

Ok, but I don’t see anything in the story this links to about dual citizenship with Turkey? Have you linked to the wrong page? Also, the way in which financial aid to Pakistan is being discussed seems more than slightly dis-ingenious, considering the total LACK of mention re: the sort of “baggage” that always accompanies US financial aid. This seems particularly egregious in light of the fact that its talking about financing hydro-electric dams in North Pakistan, which is something China is already doing. DAILY SABAH: Pakistan on Thursday said a plan is being considered regarding the signing of an agreement with Turkey to allow dual citizenship for citizens of the two countries. This came during a meeting between Pakistan Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah and Turkish Ambassador to Islamabad Ihsan Mustafa Yurdakul, according to a statement issued by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry. Yes, but as I pointed out, the story they linked to doesn’t discuss that, it discusses Robin Raphel and the Kerry Lugar bill, its the content of the story they actually linked to that I am addressing.
