The lying CPI is more off than ever. PPI is not so massaged as CPI and the difference is HUGE now. For example Germany since 1/1 PPI 40% but CPI 9%. In eastern Europe maybe the lies with CPI aren’t as flawed. I know for a fact that CPI and other mscro statistics in Russia are almost perfect and true. They have nothing to gain by lying and culturally I think they have another perspective of lying statistics because of the lies in Soviet Union when all statistics were flawed.
