This discussion is ‘refreshingly’ correct, and quite fascinating. The big thing not spoken of however, bigger than economic collapse, relative political instabilities, Pacific-theatre war, the shrill fragility of ‘our’ leaders, is the great big incredible event which is going to start hitting us all very, very shortly; and which will put all the above in the shade yet make it all make sense. The governments don’t care that the economies are suffering because it is by design. Also I thought of this clip from years ago these people are ruthless and don’t care about the damage caused.
My only criticism is that Westerners who criticize China for being “authoritarian” are ignoring the fact that the central government has an approval rating of 95% (even begrudgingly acknowledged by the Harvard Review). The central government of Taiwan also has a similar approval rating. Chinese cultural values are simply different from those of the West.
As an American citizen, who has been living in South America for more than forty years, I have watched my beloved mother country from afar with sadness as it has been moving towards self destruction.

I personally don’t see our leaders as weak and incompetent. I see them as completely corporate captured puppets. Them and thier entire parties and thier so called opposition parties.
It’s difficult to appear strong and adept whilst serving an agenda which is completely contradictory to the agenda your voters think you have. I think they prefer to appear inept as that pisses people off less than blatant corruption.
