Those fabled five eyes again! Five countries and five eyes, are they the 5 one-eyed ones? Here’s an idea: Germany and France could get some Huawei 5G and 6G equipment and the five will be the blindfolded 5 + 1 eyes. Mrs. Merkel did suggest some time ago that it should be possible to detect if the equipment had a back door. Anyway, the Chinese are not known for greed and geopolitical hubris, as are the US. Friendly but frail Biden, who has a gruelling trip to Europe ahead of him, could be spared the recriminations.

No surprises here. This three country also speak perfect English. When I was living in Belgium I was surprised to hear how well people in the Netherlands could speak English. I use to call them the Yanks of EU.
You’re assuming most Yanks speak good English?
TBH until reading this article I would find it hard to believe that any continental European nation would be a member of the Five Eyes given the cultural differences between the Anglosphere and continental Europe. One such difference, if relevant, is the use of Civil Law in Continental Europe (plus Quebec, Louisiana and Scotland) compared to Common Law in the Anglosphere – not that it is automatically indicative (e.g. Ireland uses Common Law, but they’re not in the Five Eyes).
Of course the Brits would never let the Irish joining the notorious ‘Five-Eyes’ because they have a special disdain + mistrust of their former Imperial Slaves who had the audacity to fought their genocidal looting/plundering brutal oppressors + slavers and kicked them out of their land…not entirely, yet.
The word “Yankees” is based on the Dutch boy names “Jan” and “Kees” (pronounced as “Yan” and “Case”) and refers to Dutch immigrants to the USA.
All the while, west spies on east and each other, likewise the east to the west and each other. It’s become rather a worn out childish toy now, and should perhaps be put back in the toy box and left gather dust?
