The coronavirus epidemic in China is apparently over, with 3,000 total deaths and 70,000 total recoveries for a recovery rate of 96%. As well almost all of the deaths were for patients with preexisting conditions many of whom had tuberculosis. It is difficult to see then how the coronavirus can be regarded as anything other than a relatively benign outbreak and practically insignificant in comparison to the 1918 Spanish flu or even the 1968 Hong Kong flu which killed some 40,000,000 and 1,000,000 respectively.
