Boris Johnson will face a day of difficult questions after footage emerged of Number 10 officials joking and laughing about a Christmas party in Downing Street last year during a time of strict COVID restrictions. The prime minister is set to square off against Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer at PMQs, where he could also face anger from backbenchers in his own party.

It was shortly after I fortuitously booked my airline reservation in January of 2016, for a 6-week summer trip to England, that Cameron announced the referendum for June 22. (Stayed with my pro-Brexit cousin in Wembley). As I recall, not long afterwards BoJo announced he was for Brexit which Cameron opposed. I suspected then, and still do, that BoJo’s endorsement of Brexit, which was not expected to pass, was really just a move to set himself up politically and eventually mount a challenge for the Tory leadership.
