There can be another reason why Russia aligned podcasters try to smear Angelton recently. There probably was deep Soviet infiltration and he was on it.
Laugh. Who are you? 780th military brigade? Angleton was garbage. Any commie would give the scoundrel a medal if at all possible. He smeared himself and his own legacy… You evidently have no idea how the Agency operates, and have no knowledge of the true issues at the time.
AFAIK he helped to uncover Kilby and gave credit to Golitsyn who’s predictions happened to be true.
A point not ever addressed by historians is why, after the assassination and coup d’etat that installed Johnson over JFK, Johnson lost focus on the Cuba issue entirely, and switched to pursuit of the debacle in Vietnam. After the Bay of Pigs, JFK said he would shatter the CIA “into a thousand pieces.” JFK fired Allan Dulles from his leading position in the CIA. Dallas police Officer J.D. Tippit was shot and killed while questioning the assassin of President John F. Kennedy at Tenth and Patton Streets.
45 minutes after President Kennedy was shot, Officer Tippit stopped the suspect, Lee Harvey Oswald, who was on foot and fit the general description of the assassin that was being broadcast by All-points bulletin.
After being summoned by Officer Tippit, Oswald suddenly shot him three times at point-blank range with a .38 caliber revolver. After Officer Tippit fell, he was shot in the head by Oswald, which proved to be the fatal shot.

As well as been a communist, Lee Harvey Oswald was also a US Marine trained sharpshooter, and the fatal shot he fired at JFK, was from a distance of only 80 meters.
Are you aware that the distance of the target in Olympic Archery is 70 metres, and the Olympians regularly hit the bullseye at this distance, which is a head shot.
So if Lee Harvey Oswald did not kill JFK, then why did he murder the Dallas police Officer J.D. Tippit, 45 minutes after the JFK assassination, when he was confronted by office Tippit?
