It is understandable that Mr. Mercouris focuses on what’s published. However, in politics, especially when EU and NATO are involved, the real plans are usually not public but secretive schemes devised by people who believe they are ” the smartest guys in the room” but are really complete idiots. So what really happened ? The key to everything is not some agreement or negotiations, but belarus. It’s difficult to see why France and Germany would expect Vladimir Putin to get involved with Ukraine’s Zelensky without a committment from them to the Minsk Agreement. They are the ones who should get involved, since they facilitated and aided the meddling of the faraway United States of America leading to a coup and disastrous chaos in 2014. Imagine the US having a proxy leader in Ukraine named Viktor Yushchenko who called Stepan Bandera a “Hero of Ukraine”. Ukraine has not even started to honour any of the commitments it made under the Minsk Agreement, which it signed in September 2014; in fact, Zelensky has refused to honour them. Germany and France were involved in the Minsk Accord but they haven’t pressured Zelensky to implement it. Why should they expect Russia to get involved before Ukraine has followed through on its last set of commitments?
