Comedian and US TV “celebrity,” Chelsea Handler posted a photo on her Instagram account on Thursday trying to be funny (and ‘neo-con cool’) by mocking the photo of Russian President Vladimir Putin on horseback…oh she was topless as well.
So I guess the funny part is the fact that she is topless on the horseback? Or is the funny part the fact that it’s a “strong and independent” woman taking on the man that feminists and manginas love to hate.
Either way, the photo was quickly removed from Instagram because it didn’t follow the community guidelines.
More specifically, Instagram informed her:
“Remember that our community is a diverse one, and that your posts are visible to people as young as 13 years old,” the guidelines read. “While we respect the artistic integrity of photos and videos, we have to keep our product and the content within it in line with our App Store’s rating for nudity and mature content. In other words, please do not post nudity or mature content of any kind.”
Fair enough, kids may be seeing this picture, and the community does have rules in place for certain legal and social reasons.
Now here is where the entire thing gets interesting and where, predictably so, Ms. Handler pulls out the ‘sexist card.’
Via Yahoo News:
“Anything a man can do, a woman has the right to do better,” she wrote. “Taking this down is sexist. I have every right to show I have a better body than Putin.”
Yes of course, girls can do anything better than a man, blah blah blah blah…
Now explain to me why a women wants to show she has a better body than a man?
And more importantly, why is this comparison so important for you to show?
And even more to the point, why is this funny for your fans to see?
The hissy fit, unfortunately, continued…
“If a man posts a photo of his nipples, it’s ok, but not a woman? Are we in 1825?” she continued.
The former “Chelsea Lately” host then reposted the image: “If Instagram takes this down again, you’re saying Vladimir Putin Has more 1st amendment rights than [me].”
The photo was taken down again.
On Friday, Handler posted a photo on Instagram of her dogs dressed in Halloween outfits.
“You can now find my dogs and my breasts on Twitter only,” she wrote, “where my followers have the right to choose what they say. Bye bye.”
Chelsea Handler = Solipsism on overdrive…you go girl!
