MOSCOW (Sputnik) – Deputy chief of the US diplomatic mission in Russia Anthony Godfrey said Wednesday he was confident the United States would not interfere in the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.
In an earlier interview with Chinese and Japanese media, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Moscow was convinced the United States would try to interfere in the upcoming presidential elections in Russia.
“Of course, we will not do this. I have a very deep respect for Mr. Ryabkov, but I am sure this will not happen,”
Godfrey said in an interview with Radio Kommersant FM.
The next presidential elections in Russia will be held in 2018.
