I’m not so sure that Venezuela would be essentially alone in the face of an American attack. Other Latin American nations – including Cuba – may well help discreetly with supplies.
And both China and Russia have very powerful submarine forces which could be anywhere at sea. Some highly-respected experts have claimed that all surface warships are now obsolete for that reason.
