It’s mildly amusing that all those “sanctions”, especially the resolution to give up Russian oil and gas, so closely resemble a toddler refusing to eat.
Soon they will get hungry… but there will be no food for them. The Chinese and the Indians get it.
If the USA makes a really determined, muscular effort to get back Bagram, we might see a “third round” in Afghanistan. First the Soviets went in and lost, then the Americans went in and lost… guess what would happen if the Americans asked for another helping. And this time Pakistan probably would not oblige. The Americans would get their rumps handed to them.
The US government has been in Charlie Brown mode for a long time now. He can never resist kicking the football, it always gets snatched away, and he always ends up on his back looking foolish.
Specifically, every time they send their latest military technology to Ukraine, in about a fortnight the Russians have captured it and sent it back to their labs. Then they study it, learn exactly how it works, and use that knowledge in their own systems.
So if the USA ever attacks Russia in earnest, all its best weapons will have been blunted. Smart, eh?
