If indeed Russia is now going to take a firmer stand, I say better late than never. The Ukie regime have no qualms about attacking civilian structures in the Donbas, so a taste of their own medicine is long overdue We will now ( hopefully )see what the Russians can do. Go for it President Putin.
I dont think for a minute that Putin is changing course or as the presstitudes claim even retreating. Like Von Schlieffen you adapt, overcome. In WW2 in the battle of the Bulge the americans pulled back and the nazis gained a lot of territory. Was the US Army retreating? Wars are not chess. General Patton once stated I hate to conquer the same territory twice. It happens. Shelling a nuclear plant and civilians with himars is terrorism.
If what Putin was apparently offering at the negotiating table back in march is anything to go by, then at this point peace talks are likely to be a disaster for Russia and the Donbass republics. Militarily, Russia must turn this around Some thoughts 1) Currently Ukraine/NATO and the West are emboldened and will view negotiations as a victory.
