I think the current political ‘leaders’ do believe in a potential solution. We saw an example of this recently in The Netherlands. To avert what these ‘leaders’ have in mind, everyone else who knows a police officer or military fighting person had better convince them that they should take the side of the people and not obey orders to shoot.

The film Battleship Potemkin comes to mind. “When they are fed rancid meat, the sailors on the Potemkin revolt against their harsh conditions. Led by Vakulinchuk (Aleksandr Antonov), the sailors kill the officers of the ship to gain their freedom. Vakulinchuk is also killed, and the people of Odessa honour him as a symbol of revolution. Tsarist soldiers arrive and massacre the civilians to quell the uprising.
