Alexander, you are making the assumption that elections are still legitimate in the United States, and I can tell you for a fact that that is simply not the case. Nothing a politician does has any bearing on election outcomes. Election outcomes are decided by algorithm’s written into the software of voting machines in key states. But voting must make some difference to an election outcome, because if Biden were to become unpopular in non-key states, then some non-key states would themselves change. CHange can be from democrat to rebuplican even at some point or vice versa, even though not expected as a norm.
