If I were Russia, I’d attack a NATO country to start a conflict symmetrical to the west’s attack on Russia via Ukraine. The west appears far more vulnerable to economic turmoil due to war than Russia. The west has no industrial base from which to respond and expanding what exists would be costly. Such a Russian attack would put the west on its back foot, would concentrate western minds, and potentially would cause the west to be halfway serious in ending this nonsense through negotiations. BUt westerm-zion’s attack is an ‘asymetrical’ or more precisely, a proxy war. Who would Russia recruit as a proxy, the UK, France? HUngary? First they have to be corrupted into Russia’s fold. Russia atacking themselves is a declaration of war on all western-NATO countries. Is that what you are suggesting? (I donbt think so).
Why use a proxy. Just do it in the hope it ends quickly. Otherwise it drags on and it ends slowly OR with Russia occupied in Ukraine with the west initiating more crap elsewhere.
