The Zero Credibility of the Americans in Palestine

After eleven months of war in the Gaza Strip between Hamas and Netanyahu the universally biased attitude of the USA in favor of Netanyahu is evident. By arming, supplying and financing the Netanyahu regime, Washington is complicit, if not instigating, the genocide against the Palestinian civilian population. The American foreign minister Blinken’s … touristic trips in the region is of a communicative and acting nature aimed at the American public opinion in view of the autumn elections. It is understandable why no truce has been reached so far. The US, like Netanyahu, does not want a truce because it is losing the war to Hamas and Islamic Jihad. But the worst for Netanyahu is yet to come.

The erruption of a second front in the Occupied Territories could be imminent in the northern West Bank, proof of Netanyahu’s failure to defeat Hamas. The galvanization of Palestinian public opinion in the West Bank by the steadfast resistance of the Palestinians and the crimes against them by Netanyahu’s occupation army turn day by day to a radicalization of the West Bank Palestinians and exposes the inactive Mahmoud Abbas to the various wings of Fatah and other secular Palestinian organizations. The killing of Fatah’s Khalil Makdah in Sidon, Lebanon by Tel Aviv highlights the ferments and processes between wings of Fatah and Hamas to join the resistance against Netanyahu with or without the consent of Abbas. The armed uprising of the West Bank, a second front inside Palestine, is a scenario that Netanyahu’s advisers and ministers do not want to think about.

In these dramatic developments the Americans have failed to diplomatically resolve the crisis and prevent the worsening of the war. His pro-Netanyahu bias makes Biden and his administration morally untrustworthy and politically inadequate to determine military developments today and political developments tomorrow. Netanyahu’s defeat so far is also a defeat for the Americans. And this increases their impasse even more. Air strikes are not enough. Day by day they themselves “fall deeper into the pit” they dug for the Palestinians.
