One little point: in German, “Welle” is pronounced “velluh”. The Germans are funny like that: they pronounce “w” as “v” (“Luftvaffe”) and “v” as “f” (“Vater” pronounced “Fahter”). What about “f”? Well, obviously, that’s pronounced “f”! Silly question…
