Whatever happened in 1944, Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939 was one of the greattest geopolitical blunders of recorded history. Germany should have been holding the banner of peace and cooperation high, not sending soldiers into battle.

Stalin had 40.000 tanks at the border ready to invade Germany. Hardly hubris. London gave the Poles carte blanche for war. What could possibly go wrong
