Hello Alex! I agree with with your assessment that President Zelenskiy is safe from the Russians. In my view, aside from his military incompetence, Zelenskiy is even more precious as a witness, that ought to be protected for all future trials.
Hot take that just occurred to me. Talking to my wife (who actively resists being informed of current events) last night, I mentioned the Odessa strike and that Russia could have easily assassinated Z yesterday. She was totally confused as to why Russia would not take the opportunity (she is not partisan at all in the conflict). It makes no sense. Then it occurred to me. Could Z be a double-agent? I suspect the phrase ‘denazification’ is a Russian euphemism for the ‘deJewification’ of Ukraine, in the Judeo-Russo war in the former Ukraine.
I think there is a little matter of the outrage which occurred in Odessa in 2014. So.. for the past year they have not been able to find any artillery shells regardless of price, and now they have found 800K of them… Sounds like BS to me. We will see.
IMO Russia has now realized the danger of having the coastline around Odessa in hostile hands. It seems like the taking of Odessa and the entire Red Sea coastal lands of Ukraine is now a matter of National Security for Russia. Given the danger to Russia’s Red Sea Fleet already demonstrated, I do not see any way that Russia cannot take those areas regardless of whatever the cost may be.

The Red Sea is a seawater inlet of the Indian Ocean, lying between Africa and Asia, and The Black Sea is a large inland sea situated at the southeastern extremity of Europe.
I have said all along that Russia HAS to take Odessa. They need to link with Transnistria in order to answer their pleas for help. And they need to punish Ukraine by making them a lanlocked country. It is the only way you can stop the industrial scale of black market activities and corruption. Cut off that port to the Ukrainians.

I have read that Odessa was once home to the largest population of jews on the planet.
