As Dr Chomsky remarked in the 1970s, “democracy” means a government that unquestioningly obeys orders from Washington and acts in the interests of US corporations. A government that acts in the interests of its own nation and people is “communist”, “socialist”, or at best “populist”. All of which really mean the same: a government that represents its own people.

The CIA has been instrumental in fomenting wars all over the planet, as has MI6 and the Mossad. I hope that, this time, the CIA has picked a target that will, eventually, prove a harder nut to crack. I am probably not the only person who felt strongly that the massive travel problems in Europe over the holiday season and, specifically, Eurostar between Britain and France were the work of skilled hacking units. I’m very surprised that nobody has accused Russia of the Swiss nightclub fire.
I can update you on the fire in CH. There were sparklers in champagne bottles and a waitress, on the shoulders of a waiter, carried one and it hit the ceiling where the inflammable lining immediately caught fire. There seems to have been one narrow staircase giving access to the basement and it was said the clientele was made up of 15-24-year olds. There are many questions: why are these fireworks allowed indoors? How come the ceiling was lined with a highly flammable product?
