Russian Senator Aleksey Pushkov:

“After this scandal with McDonald’s we could start from imposing targeted sanitary sanctions against this company. It is not a ‘holy cow.’”

This came after a McDonald’s employee from Louisiana posted a set of pictures on Twitter of the inside of one of its restaurants. The images revealed the bad conditions of the kitchen machinery and awfully dirty floors.

While the pictures went viral, McDonald’s press service has not yet responded to the reports.

The iconic US chain was one of the first Western corporations to enter Russian markets after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

First McDonald’s opens in Soviet Union (January 31, 1990).

Today, McDonald’s is spread all over Russia employing tens of thousands of staff and selling over $1 billion in fast food through over 400 outlets every year.

I presume that this is a bit of a spoof article? I wish it were true! I know President Putin cares very deeply about the well being of his people… so running this toxic poison distributor OUT of Russia ought to be on the top of his list!

It really is trash ‘food’ – that does not even decompose after over a year (if my memory serves me – without looking for the study). And the ersatz ‘ice-cream’ and ‘thickshake’ is pure trash.
I am horrified that they have flooded Russia – “over 400 outlets”. I thought GMO foods were banned in Russia, no?

Not a holy cow more Ronald Mac Regan’s gift to Russia…? I remember there used to be a Russian version, a net called MacPick in Ekaterinburg, I think there is still one working. “Шашлык” – Shashlik, an ingenious local business, in Ekaterinburg had taken the golden arches of the “M” for MacDonalds and inverted it as the “Ш” – Sh in Shashlik. Had to change it though when the Big “Mac” Brother caught them using their registered trademark… Pity I thought it was rather ingenious. But шашлык машлык! (Shashlik Mashlik!) Which literally translated means “Shish kebab skewered”. Perhaps Anna, Mr… Read more »
