Russia launches “brightest star” satellite into space

A triumph for the Moscow State Mechanical Engineering University.

Russia has just launched a new satellite into orbit whose solar reflectors will make it as bright as a star.

The Mayak satellite was launched into space with the help of a Soyuz 2-1v rocket.

Lift-off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome was a success.
