The criminally accused, being watched by the prosecution at home the time of the crime, was whistling in that annoying manner, like he hadn’t a care in the world, and was thus promptly arrested, shortly after the gruesome events.

I have never heard of any serving soldiers going into battle carrying passports/ID/whatever. That’s why dog tags were invented,with serial numbers, so that the army could identify them if they were dead, in hospital or in prison but the enemy couldn’t. Has Zelinsky never watched a WW2 film where soldiers are only allowed to give the enemy their name, rank and serial number? But, what do I know? Maybe it has all changed, particularly in the ‘woke’ western armies where everyone has to announce their pronouns/genders/sexualities and dietary requirements?
