How frightful if the Russians and Chinese have been helping Iran with satellite and other intelligence! Only the USA is allowed to do that.

If there were no British military establishments in Asia, neither Russia nor Iran would be able to attack them.

Since the UK government lacks military power, influence, international respect, and common sense, it would be well advised to keep its handful of soldiers, sailors, and airmen at home in Britain.

IMHO, refusing to enter the Vietnam fiasco was about the best thing that Harold Wilson ever did. Perhaps, as an actual socialist, he was unexcited by dreams of imperial glory and unimpressed even by the supposed need to keep in with the Americans.
