Imagine if Germany had, a decade ago, made it clear to the US that it was unwilling to discuss or bargain away its relationship with Russia , especially in regard to energy matters. China has shown the way.. Germany has signed its own death warrant for failure to assert its own sovereignty both with the US and with the EU.

I seem to have read somewhere that the US and Russia had made an agreement not to set off earthquakes. What has happened and is happening in Syria and Turkey is not likely to be accidental, so it does seem to me that any agreement of which the US is a part is not worth paper on which it’s written. Therefore Russia suspending the START treaty seems to be a reasonable move.
I may be wrong about this, but in that case, do correct me.
