Alexandre, You raise an important reminder about WW2 attempts by Germany to negotiate an end to the war by mid/end of 1943, whether in good faith or not. I seem to recall reading about similar attempts made by Japanese officials. The problem then and now is that the US leaders require unconditional surrender from their enemy. In the case of Japan, that requirement was indeed the ultimate deciding factor in dropping the atomic bombs. Zelensky’s war will go down in history providing one great lesson for future warmongers: Never start a war you can’t fight on your own. If you have to rely on the generosity of friends, you will eventually run out of friends.

Another lesson would be don’t use green screens because you lose credibility when people figure it out, as sooner or later they always do. You end up being called names such as Volodymyr Greenscreenski.

The “conscience of these people at the newspapers” was challenged just prior to the decision to behave as they did. Their conscience did not dissuade them. Alexander, your optimism in at all being able to make them see the error of their ways by your polite expression of disappointment is testimony to your kindness. You have enough character not to corrupt your journalistic integrity and you see others, no matter what behaviors they have exhibited, as being similar enough to act as you would.
