For many decades the US government has been publishing systematic lies about such things as GNP, unemployment, and crime. Unfortunately, as Mr Mercouris seems to hint, this raises the possibility that government departments themselves rely on those fake statistics.

I hope “the troops” in general do not have possession of Oreshniks and the ability to launch them at targets of their choice. From what we have seen so far, it looks like a weapon that – almost as much as nuclear weapons – should be controlled and used at the discretion of the civil authorities.
If estimates of Oreshnik’s range are correct, from Minsk they could probably reach all of the British Isles. Or North Cape.

Mr Mercouris points out that we have never been told about the state of the Youzhny factory in Dniepropetrovsk.
One possible answer might be: “What factory?”

The reason the United States is a confusing statistical maze is because the U.S. Government is totally corrupt.
Alexander Mercouris, always the Pollyanna, doesn’t understand that a “confusing statistical maze” is exactly what the U.S. Government desires. This situation is allows the U.S. Government to massage the statistics to create any scenario they want.
If they want Americans to think the economy is booming, then choose those statistics that reflect that.
If they want Americans to think the economy is in a depression then choose other statistics.
It’s not difficult to understand.
