I guess that not enough pensioners died during the pandemic and western governments can’t afford them. Considering that Blackrock, Vanguard et al. who have a hand in many government pension funds and investments have probably decreed that these payouts cannot be afforded anymore. The computer modelling that they have turned to in the last few years are telling them that the ‘pension window’ must be narrowed, people are living too long.
