Pope blessing gay couples signals total departure of Roman Catholicism from Christianity [Video]

There are simply no two ways about it. And who will do anything about the Pope? Nobody.

December 18, 2023: The day that Rome completely jumped the LGBT shark. We knew it was coming for years, but today’s report from the AP says it has arrived:

Pope approves blessings for same-sex couples if they don’t resemble marriage

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis has formally approved allowing priests to bless same-sex couples, with a new document explaining a radical change in Vatican policy by insisting that people seeking God’s love and mercy shouldn’t be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” to receive it.

The document from the Vatican’s doctrine office, released Monday, elaborates on a letter Francis sent to two conservative cardinals that was published in October. In that preliminary response, Francis suggested such blessings could be offered under some circumstances if they didn’t confuse the ritual with the sacrament of marriage.

The new document repeats that condition and elaborates on it, reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong sacrament between a man and a woman. And it stresses that blessings in question must be non-liturgical in nature and should not be conferred at the same time as a civil union, using set rituals or even with the clothing and gestures that belong in a wedding.

But it says requests for such blessings for same-sex couples should not be denied full stop. It offers an extensive and broad definition of the term “blessing” in Scripture to insist that people seeking a transcendent relationship with God and looking for his love and mercy should not be subject to “an exhaustive moral analysis” as a precondition for receiving it.

“Ultimately, a blessing offers people a means to increase their trust in God,” the document said. “The request for a blessing, thus, expresses and nurtures openness to the transcendence, mercy, and closeness to God in a thousand concrete circumstances of life, which is no small thing in the world in which we live.”

He added: “It is a seed of the Holy Spirit that must be nurtured, not hindered.”

The document marks the latest gesture of outreach from a pope who has made welcoming LGBTQ+ Catholics a hallmark of his papacy. From his 2013 quip, “Who am I to judge?” about a purportedly gay priest, to his 2023 comment to The Associated Press that “Being homosexual is not a crime,” Francis has distinguished himself from all his predecessors with his message of welcome.

“The significance of this news cannot be overstated,” said Francis DeBernardo of New Ways Ministry, which supports LGBTQ+ Catholics. “It is one thing to formally approve same-gender blessings, which he had already pastorally permitted, but to say that people should not be subjected to “an exhaustive moral analysis” to receive God’s love and mercy is an even more significant step…”

Yada, yada, yada… you can read the rest of the fluff yourself – I just included some of it to show how the pope is trying to soften the deathblow he is giving the Roman Catholic Church.

Now, as an Orthodox Christian and an educated one at that, I could spend a great deal of time pointing out all the theological and pastoral wrongdoings and even heresies of the Roman jurisdiction to show that it departed from real Christianity a very long time ago. But for hundreds of millions of faithful Roman Catholics, to leave their Church is considered a grave sin, beyond the pale, so they have ridden this sinking behemoth as it prepares to plunge all of them into darkness, in good faith because they were taught to be faithful to their Church!!

What a betrayal and what a tragedy this pope is to the faithful who have tried to do the right thing by sticking with their Church, and now to hear this travesty.

What comes next is unknown, but this is a sad day, indeed.

However, the Eastern Orthodox Church, which Rome has tried by dishonest means to reunify with for the last thousand years, is generally remaining true to Christianity as Christ and His Apostles taught it. In Russia, the Church is defining the social and cultural norms of the Russian people as they emerge from the abyss of godless forced atheism, and it is working. This not meant to throw Rome under the bus with a simple “Orthodoxy is true, Rome is not!” statement – that is both blindingly blunt and stupid because there are true faithful folks in Rome’s communion and truly faithless ones in Orthodoxy’s… but there are some differences in ecclesiology in the Orthodox world that have a great preventative effect against some “top hierarch” making such an heretical pronouncement and expecting the faithful and clergy to just accept and adopt it.

(A further hint – put a person in charge, call him infallible, and eventually he will believe it and tell you you must too, to your own detriment. Bad idea, and only a recent one in Rome’s own history.)

That, by the way, folks, is what the West is so rabidly determined to defeat Russia by the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian men and women as cannon fodder. The West hates real Christianity and wants to stop it so that people living insane lifestyles won’t be reminded that they are on the wrong track. It really is as simple as that.

UPDATE: Since I did this article and video, Priest Josiah Trenham also weighed in. He makes some corrections to what I say in my video – sort of – Jesus DOES talk about Sodom and Gomorrah, for example. But I add this video because (1) I am a layman and Fr Josiah is a priest, and you will see that our viewpoints are pretty much identical, because we are both Orthodox Christians. (2) He has a bit more “authority” to speak due to his reputation and his work as an ordained priest. I am only a subdeacon. And, (3), it will probably infuriate more cynical people.

Enjoy!

Yes! As my mother used to say, “There’s none so blind as those who will not see”! What’s happened to our spiritual leaders?

“Real’ Christianity – hilarious

Therein lies your fundamental flaw

Everyone thinks their flavour of superstition is the ‘right’ one

The Vatican is simply shifting its PR focus

Everyone thinks their flavour of superstition is the ‘right’ one

Spoken like a true communist!

Do you know what I find “hilarious”?

People who are inflicted with the dry soul rot of Atheism and Spiritual retardation, like those among us who ‘Trust the science’ and believe in the senselessness of the Big Bang Theory, where the Universe just appeared out of nothing!

I am an atheist but still against peverts. The entire LGBTQ agenda is peversion aimed at our children. One does not need be religious in order to want to live in a society with family values. If I were a young man I would move to Russia. However in my 80’s and dependent on SS, which the government will strip me of if I move to certain countries, like Russia or China, I can’t do it.

So Seraphim gets to play God! Because he’s a self-professed “educated ‘orthodox’ Christian,” he of course KNOWS that Jesus and all his disciples, male and female, were straight-as-arrows heteros. What a load of pompous prattle!

Will not stop “Christians” acting as morally superiors. I don’t need holy books to get sick in stomach from the homo stuff.

Mr. Hanisch: No Catholic can really “do” something about the pope. In theory (Réginald Garrigou-Lagrange pondered this in some of his writings) a future pope can declare the current pope as having excommunicated himself through spreading heresy. But there is no power on earth that can depose a pope. So we are stuck with this situation for now. We faithful Catholics can surround and protect our brave priests and nuns who are faithful to the Magesterium. We can collectively make those heretical parishes go broke, and we can pray. But we’re warned at Fatima that the final battle would be… Read more »

I can’t give up my sweet immaculate Virgin… other than this one dogma and the whole “schism” thing, I’d say we are pretty much brothers and sisters in Christ! There are orthodox traditions that are in communion with Rome, and they have their own bishops. And some orders, like the Dominican Order or FSSP are more likely to resist. But Catholic priests are in the firing line if they stand up… take Bishop Strickland for example. This is a hard time for faithful Roman Catholics! I do love your writing! Keep it up!
